FAQ's

How often do you deliver?

Real Food Ready is a bi-monthly delivery service of fresh-frozen meals designed for your slow cooker. Orders are delivered every other week on Sundays. You can always find the upcoming delivery date and order deadline on the home page and menu page. We do not require subscriptions  - simple order when the time is right for you! 

 

How are the meals packaged?

Meals are made from scratch. From there, we seal and flash-freeze them. This process seals in flavor and freshness, so that every meal tastes perfectly home made. Meals are raw and ready-to-cook. Store in the freezer until you are ready to defrost and cook. 

 

Are the meals allergy-free? 

We do not have a certified allergy-free kitchen. Though we thoroughly clean and sanitize between every meal, there is the potential for cross-contamination. We do provide detailed ingredient lists for every meal, so you know exactly what is in your meal. In addition, we tag meals that are free of gluten, dairy and soy, to make the ordering process easier for you. On the menu page, you can select from a series of tags that will narrow down options specific to your dietary needs. 

 

Will I need additional ingredients?

Some meals are one-bowl meals (soups, stews, chili, curry, etc), while others are a main dish (pulled meats, roasts, etc) and will require more sides/ingredients to complete your meal. We provide serving suggestions on the label for each meal. 

 

What are the cooking instructions?

  1. Defrost your meal in the refrigerator before you want to cook it. For larger cuts of meat, or meals with a lot of ingredients, you will likely need at least 24-48 hours in the refrigerator to defrost. 
  2. Once defrosted, place all contents of the bag into a slow cooker/instant pot.. Follow instructions on entree bag for cook time and any additional steps. 
  3. Let the crock do all the work! 

 

How will I know when my delivery will arrive?

Our general delivery window is 12-5pm. You will receive an order confirmation AND a 1 hour delivery window for your specific order on the day of delivery. Please include your CELL PHONE number when checking out, and add our email to your contact list, so you receive email notifications. 

 

What if I won't be home during the delivery window?

If you won’t be home during your delivery window, just be sure to leave a cooler for our driver. We will place your order in the cooler, then notify you via text. 

 

What if I live outside of your delivery zone?

We’d love to get a special delivery set up for you. Just let us know where you are by clicking here. Please note, we do not ship our meals. Special deliveries are within reasonable driving distance of the Denver Metro Area only.
